Sources from Shijiazhuang Railway Station suggested that from April 27 to May 4, the station is estimated to serve 1.24 million passengers, which is mainly due to the May Day holiday that runs from April 29 to May 3.
During this period, the station will serve an average of 154,900 travellers per day. The daily passenger number is expected to reach a peak of 203,000 people on April 29, while the returning passenger peak is predicted to be on May 4. Popular destinations during this holiday season include China’s major cities, such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Nanjing, Taiyuan, Xi’an and Wuhan.
This year’s May Day holiday mainly features passengers traveling back home or traveling for tourism. The passenger throughput began to climb on April 26.
The railway station will continue providing extra ticket windows, entrances, and waiting rooms for people. It has also arranged for special spaces to accommodate soldiers, children and infants.
